The study of problem solving has a long history of evolution and cross-disciplinary fascination, so we might as well as adapt it to the study of Search Engine Optimization theory. But SEO “problems” are mostly handled by a fairly rigid set of rules. There isn’t much benefit to derive from the study of problem-solving techniques when every SEO blogger on the planet has offered at least one or two checklists of things to do when you have a problem. It’s the complex problems that call for a theoretical approach to finding adequate solutions. In fact, a great deal of theoretical problem solving goes on throughout the industry.
