Google to Implement Anti-Piracy Code in Search Results by June 1st by @MattGSouthern

Google, along with other search companies, are close to finalizing an agreement to implement an anti-piracy code in its search results. The code would effectively eliminate the presence of links to copyright infringing material in search. According to a report by TorrentFreak , all parties have agreed the code should come into effect by June 1, 2017. This decision was prompted by roundtable discussions led by the UK’s Intellectual Property Office. Despite Google’s best efforts to remove links to copyright infringing content, the entertainment industry believes the search giant should do more. Google, in conjunction with representatives from the entertainment industry, are said to be extremely close to finalizing an agreement on what should be done.
