Mindset: From Web Tech To Web Business

If you read my posts you know that while I value SEs, including Google, I have spent years diversifying traffic; that while I value AdSense, I have spent years diversifying revenue especially towards direct ad sales. I know that others have appreciated the value of such diversification but have either found it sufficient or simply easier to focus on Google and AdSense. I blame webdev fora and conferences. Why? Because, until fairly recently, their emphasis has been on SEO/SEM. Primarily Google-centric. While most webdevs were search focussed I was niche and marketing and advertising focussed. I attended or followed up on niche conventions, marketing and advertising conventions and symposia.
