Story Telling User Personas #UX

In my earlier years of providing usability audits for several well known search engine marketing companies, I included at least one persona. I was told that these were the favorite part of my reports. I created my user persona without the data normally needed for professional persona creation because clients either didn't have it or didn't have enough for me to use. I'm fortunate for having had many personal life experiences, and a great imagination. One time I owned a yacht. Many times I was stressed single mom of a brood of kids (at that time, not a stretch to describe!). The harder ones were where I was a purchase manager for different manufacturing and industrial sites. Having worked for 6 years for one such company and dealing every day with purchasing and inventory, I was able to get a decent, believable persona from these life experiences.
