Google AdSense Earnings Drop With HTTPS Migrations #affiliate

"HTTPS-enabled sites require that all content on the page, including the ads, be SSL-compliant. As such, AdSense will remove all non-SSL compliant ads from competing in the auction on these pages. If you do decide to convert your HTTP site to HTTPS, please be aware that because we remove non-SSL compliant ads from the auction, thereby reducing auction pressure, ads on your HTTPS pages might earn less than those on your HTTP pages." So basically you're eff'd.. if you rely on Adsense earnings don't bother switching to SSL for the marginal boost. Google says it gives the boost because if wants to protect user's private data. If you have a site where users are not logging in or buying anything there's nothing to protect anyway. Doesn't SSL makes the pages significantly larger to download? Wouldn't the SSL boost be offset by the page load time? It's silly that they announce it ...
