He used SEMrush to find the keyword difficulty for the keywords recommended by the Google keyword planner, then weighed the difficulty against the potential traffic in order to make a judgment call about which keywords to focus most heavily on. He used a “site:example.com [keyword]” search to identify which page on the site already had the most ranking potential for that keyword.
